Endtime and its signs
Are you still in doubt that we are in the end time? Doubt no more; we are in the end time! What is happening around the world today is proof that we are at the end of this age. These things are called signs of the end time {Matt. 24:2}. They are just signs that tell us that the end of the world is at hand. We are told in the Bible that this present world will one day come to an end and that before then there will be signs and perilous times. This was prophesied thousands of years ago, when the so-called scientists could not make any tangible discoveries about it. Isaac Newton later discovered it, but his theory was built around biblical premises. Again, Stephen Hawkin, one of the world renowned scientists, before his death, calculated and discovered too that the world is going to end in some years to come. There are other scientists who have also discovered it, but all their discoveries are mere confirmations of God’s word.
End time derives its name from the Greek word “eschatos,” which means “last” in terms of time, space, or history. An extension of this word is called “eschatology,” which means the study of the end of the world or the final events in the history of mankind. Therefore, end time is the time of the last events in the world or human history. The Bible does not directly use the word ‘end time’ but uses other synonyms like last days, last times, end of age, or latter days.
The ancient writings and revelations about the end times are called apocalypses. There are several secular documents about end-time events, but we should only know and embrace the biblical prophecies that come from the servants of the Almighty God, who created both heaven and earth.
As said, these prophecies were given thousands of years ago at different dispensations, and they have since been studied and watched as they are unfolding. The branch of theology that studies end-time prophecies and events is called eschatology.
Today, the word end time is becoming very popular, with its attendant consequences. All that the Bible says is unfolding before our eyes. Unfortunately, many people still doubt, even with these numerous signs around us. They are not just doubting but scoffing at God’s word, like the days of Noah, yet fulfilling the scripture for themselves (2 Peter 3:3). But the truth still remains that this world is coming to an end. Scientists on their own end have confirmed it. This is why they are preparing the planet to be habitable for humans. It is one of the world’s major agendas now. So it is a reality!

Christ is the best teacher.
Jesus came to give us understanding of things to make us wise! He is the greatest end-time teacher who has ever been on earth. He always taught with authority, and his disciples made many references to him. In Matthew 24, he reveals so many events that are going to take place before the end. At the end of his revelation, he said this:
“Now, learn a parable of the fig tree: When his branch is yet tender and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near. So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.” Matthew 24:32-33.
The purpose of the prophecies
The main purpose of this revelation is for us to know the end times based on the manifestation of those signs on earth. This is why he says, “When you shall see all these things, know that it is near.” This is because when we know them, we will not be deceived by anyone when we see the signs. Moreover, we will be able to prepare for his sudden arrival.
Today, it is indisputable that all his prophecies concerning the end of age, which date back more than two thousand years, and those of his counterparts have come to pass. The signs are everywhere!
In view of this, Christians in particular are supposed to learn from these signs and understand the times we are in so that they can do the needful, like the children of Issachar and the five virgins. Unfortunately, many of them are busy doing other things outside of their callings, while others have already given up their faith because of the many trials and wickedness of the day. Salvation is not something anyone should joke with since it has to do with spending eternity with Christ. Therefore, Christians are to be reminded of their end-time responsibilities so that they will not be found wanting at the coming of Christ.
How to get ready for the coming of Christ
- Being watchful in all things: The end of time is a perilous time because it is full of problems and temptations to sin. For this reason, we are to watch or be careful of every step of ours in the light of God’s word to avoid committing sin. The Bible says we should abstain from every appearance of sin, and this is the best thing to do to keep ourselves holy for his coming. God is holy, and we should be holy because, without it, no one shall see the Lord {Hebrews 12:14, 1 Peter 1:16; 1 Thess. 5:22}.
- Get Salvation:
Salvation is the first step to walking with God. It is high time you get saved now because you may not have a better time tomorrow. This is why the scripture says now is the day for salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). Subsequently, you can get sanctified and receive the Holy Ghost’s baptism to enable you to live an overcomer’s life.
- Constant Bible Study:
Constant study of God’s word is very important in our Christian walk. The word of God is light that guides our walk with God. When we enrich our spirit with the word and keep meditating on it, hardly anyone will deceive us today. Like the Burean Christians, we should re-examine every teaching we receive by searching the scriptures to see if those things are true (Acts 17:11). Moreover, it will help us grow and stand firm in faith till the end.
- Occupy till He comes: The parable of the nobleman and his servants has revealed that as believers and members of the body of Christ, every one of us has talent and office that the Master has given to us. Some may be pastors, some evangelists, some teachers, some singers, some ushers, some helpers, some prophets, etc. It is true that in these end times, there are so many challenges, distractions, and discouragements in faith. However, whatever office we were given, we ought to occupy and work with every bit of our talent till he returns. There is no turning back, no matter what, until we meet him and receive our rewards as faithful servants.
- Engage in soul-wining:
We are commanded to go into all nations and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16: If we have not been serious about this before, now is the time because so many souls are perishing and Christ’s coming is very near. This is why the devil is drawing many souls to hell, knowing that his time is short. We are saved to save them from perishing by reaching out to them with the gospel. At the end, stars will be added to our crown.
- Pray constantly:
Prayer is very important in our Christian journey. We ought to wrestle in prayer at all times. Our Lord Jesus tells us to pray without ceasing, and we are to pray till we leave this world. Constant prayer will help us to live a holy life, overcome every work of the devil, stand strong in faith, and win more souls for Christ.
